Decatur Medical Dental Credit Union is dedicated to providing convenient and competitive services as a means to improving the ongoing economic well-being of our Members, while promoting growth and maintaining the Credit Union’s long-term financial stability.

HISTORY AND STRUCTURE

As a Credit Union, Decatur Medical Dental Credit Union is a Not-For-Profit organization of individuals sharing a bond as defined by our field of membership. The Credit Union was chartered December 30, 1937. We are owned and operated by our Members – the people who save and borrow money here. Because we have no outside stockholders our Members earn higher dividends on savings and pay lower loan rates and appreciate reduced or eliminated fees, plus improved member service.

Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business of the Credit Union. Each year the Annual Meeting is held the fourth Thursday in January to elect our Board of Directors and to conduct other such business as may be brought to the meeting’s attention. Board members are uncompensated volunteers. The Board is ultimately responsible for the success of the Credit Union and sets Credit Union policy.
